Information signs

Kyiv Stend manufactures a broad range of information signs for public administration, retail, healthcare, education and industrial customers across the European Union. Our production combines EN ISO 7010 pictogram standards, ISO 3864 safety colour coding and building-specific requirements from EN 81-70 (accessibility of lifts) and Directive 92/58/EEC (workplace safety signs). We ship to 26 EU member states from Kyiv within 5 to 15 working days.

What we classify as an information sign

The category "information signs" covers wayfinding, orientation, room identification, warning notices, evacuation route markers, general public communication panels and non-prohibition workplace signs. In EU regulatory language, this is a mix of:

• Safety signs covered by Directive 92/58/EEC (mandatory action - blue circle; warning - yellow triangle; safe condition - green square; fire equipment - red square);
• Wayfinding signs designed on ISO 7001 principles (public information graphical symbols);
• Accessibility signs conforming to EN 17210:2021 and ISO 21542:2021 (accessibility and usability of the built environment);
• Building-specific signage - lift signs (EN 81-70), medical facility identifiers (ISO 15223-1 where medical devices are referenced), municipal wayfinding.

Materials we use

We do not use stainless steel. If your project requires metal engraving with corrosion-resistant substrate, we recommend a local metal-engraving workshop in your country - we can provide the artwork file. For weatherproof outdoor use we recommend Alucobond composite with UV-cured direct printing.

Printing techniques

We combine four printing / marking techniques on the same product where the application requires it:

1. UV-cured direct printing - full-colour graphics on rigid substrates, weather-resistant, up to 5 years outdoor without noticeable fading (accelerated ISO 4892-3 fluorescent UV test);
2. Solvent printing on adhesive vinyl - for large-format posters and irregular substrates;
3. Plotter-cut vinyl - single-colour text and pictograms, extremely durable, ideal for prohibition/mandatory action signs on ISO 3864 colour vinyl;
4. Laser engraving on acrylic - permanent, tamper-resistant, used for room numbers, exit signs and accessibility features where readability under emergency conditions is critical.

EU standards checklist

Common product formats

• Wayfinding sign - directional arrow + text + optional pictogram; typical size 200 x 100 mm to 600 x 200 mm;
• Room identification plate - name + optional Braille (see Braille Tactile Signs); typical size 150 x 150 mm to 300 x 100 mm;
• Fire equipment sign - ISO 7010 F-series pictogram on red square; typical size 200 x 200 mm;
• Emergency exit sign - ISO 7010 E001/E002 running man; typical size 300 x 150 mm; can be photoluminescent;
• Warning triangle - ISO 7010 W-series black on yellow triangle; typical size 200 x 200 mm;
• Notice board / poster frame - A4/A3/A2/A1 with clip-in transparent cover for interchangeable content.

Mounting

Mounting height, method and orientation follow the standard applicable to the sign type:

• Room identification - centre 1400 to 1600 mm above finished floor level (EN 17210 for accessibility);
• Wayfinding - eye level, 1500 to 2100 mm for wall-mounted; 2200 to 2500 mm for suspended;
• Safety signs (fire, exit, prohibition) - 1800 to 2200 mm, unobstructed sight lines per Directive 92/58/EEC;
• Lift cabin panels - as specified in EN 81-70.

Included mounting hardware: 3M VHB double-sided tape (indoor, non-porous surfaces), M4 or M5 stainless steel screws with wall plugs (masonry), chemical anchors (structural loads), decorative stand-off bolts (front-facing acrylic panels). Selection is confirmed at quote stage based on your wall type.

How to order

Use the Request a Quote form and attach either (a) a rough sketch with dimensions, colours and pictogram numbers from ISO 7010, or (b) a finished vector file (AI, EPS, PDF, SVG). We reply within 24 working hours with a proof and a firm price. Production starts after 100 % advance payment (see Payment Information). Typical lead time 3 to 7 working days depending on quantity.
